CROOKSTON, Minn. (April 17, 2007) – Commencement ceremonies at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, for the graduating class of 2007. Families, friends and community members are invited to attend the ceremonies being held at Lysaker Gymnasium on the UMC campus.

 

Some 120 students will participate in commencement, marking the 98th to take place on the Crookston campus. Bachelor of science, associate in applied science and associate in science degrees will be conferred upon graduates, subject to completion of all curriculum requirements.

greetings from the Board of Regents. Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Russell A. Anderson will give the commencement address. Chancellor Charles H. Casey and Regent Allen will confer the degrees. Thomas Baldwin, vice chancellor for academic and student affairs will present the candidates.

 

Crookston Student Association (CSA) President Rich Stangle, a graduating senior with a major in sport and recreational management with a minor in business, will speak on behalf of the student body offering inspirational and congratulatory remarks.

UMC Alumni Association President Dr. Kari Torkelson, will offer congratulations and welcome the class of 2007 into the alumni association.

The 319th Air Refueling Wing from the Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., will present the colors, and special music will be presented by the UMC Choir under the direction of George French.
