University of Minnesota, Crookston
Using the Registration System to View Your Information

To View Your UMC Class Information:

Registration Screen

  1. Know your Internet ID and password. (Your ID is the same as your e-mail user name.) Whenever you access your Student Records, you will be asked to login. If you run into difficulties, call the Help Desk at 281-8000.
  2. Go to http://www.umcrookston.edu/register/. Some of the links on this page will send you to areas that will require you to sign on using your Internet ID and password.
  3. When the login screen appears, enter your Internet ID and password. A screen will appear telling you that you have successfully logged on. Do not close this screen! It must remain active while you access your records, so click Continue or minimize it and proceed to the next step. Also use this screen to logout when you are finished.

Updating your Personal Information:

  1. Go to Change or Update Your Personal Information. Review all of the tabs to make sure your information is correct.
  2. Select Personal Addresses from the drop-down menu. Home Address is your permanent address. Current Mailing Address is where you wish the University to mail all correspondence, such as special events information and other similar items.
  3. Enter your Billing Address by scrolling down to the Student billing address section and clicking the Change student billing address button. The University’s new system pulls your address information from this area of the database when mailing ALL bills payable to the University. Follow the instructions on the screen, using the Help button if necessary.

    Personal Info Screen
  4. When you are finished, click Done. If you do not need to access other links, LOGOUT!

Adding or Dropping Classes:

Class Info Screen

  1. Click Class Schedule Information.
  2. Class Schedule lists all classes offered, including University College courses.
  3. Click Section Status or Class Schedule to check if your courses are open. Course information is uploaded once a day, so take note of the date and time that the information was last updated. Note: The Section Status report does not indicate if any of the remaining seats are reserved for specific majors or colleges. For that information, you will need to check the Class Schedule.

    Web Registration Screen

  4. Click the Registration button.
  5. Take a moment and run through the Web Registration Walkthrough/Tutorial to become familiar with some of the screens in the new system.
  6. Holds will allow you to find information on any holds that you may have on your records. Remember, holds are periodically added, so check this link frequently, especially prior to registration periods.
  7. Make changes to your enrollment by following the same process you went through in the Registration Tutorial. Please note that when using the Search for a Class button, a new browser window will open. You can copy and paste your class numbers from your search window to your registration window. The check boxes are for the Course Planner function and will not register you for your classes. If you have any questions, call the Help Desk at 281-8000.
  8. When you’re finished registering, check your courses by clicking View your Enrollment Summary, located on the Register for Classes screen. You may Customize your Enrollment Summary using the Select button and then print it by going to the drop-down File menu.
If you print from one of the labs on campus, you will see additional screens and instructions for sending your Enrollment Summary to the local printer. You may also send a copy of your enrollment statement to your e-mail address. Click the Done button when you are finished.
  9. In the future when you register for Spring Semester, you will follow the same process you used to register for Fall Semester.
