Comedian Tom Cotter to Perform at UMC April 27Comedian Tom Cotter will perform April 27 at the University of Minneosta, Crookston (UMC). The performance will begin at 8 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium on the UMC Campus. Admission is free to UMC students with their U Card ID and $2 for all others. The event is open to the public. Cotter, a Boston native, uses a combination of impressions and wacky anecdotes in his high energy, rapid-fire style of comedy. The Providence Journal-Bulletin calls Cotter "an articulate wise guy...a rapid verbal bullet." He has performed on MTV, VH1, A&E, NBC, the Disney Channel, and Comedy Central, as well as in numerous television commercials. In the last year, Cotter landed a scene in the Miramax film, “Next Stop Wonderland,” was featured in the 1999 HBO U.S. Aspen Comedy Arts Festival, and was nominated for the 1999 MAC Award for Outstanding Male Comic. He was also summoned to London to tour and perform on British television, and he won the 15th Annual Seattle International Stand-up Comedy Competition. The evening’s events are sponsored by UMC’s S.P.A.C.E (Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment) Committee.
