UMC Director of Athletics Resigns

The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC), today, announced the resignation of Brad Kerr, Director of Athletics, effective immediately.  Kerr’s resignation follows an ongoing investigation conducted by UMC and the Crookston Police Department regarding the misappropriation of concessions funds.  "He was taken in on March 6 for questioning.  Formal charges are forthcoming," according to Bob Quandrud of the Crookston Police Department.

“It is unfortunate,” said UMC Chancellor Dr. Don Sargeant, “and we are very disappointed.  This is an isolated incident, and Mr. Kerr appears to have acted alone.  UMC will continue striving to maintain the highest level of integrity in all its programs.  We also will be working with University auditors on this matter and will be seeking restitution.”

Kerr had been director of athletics at UMC for less than a year.  Information on the search process for a new director of athletics will be forthcoming.
