NW Minnesota Health Care Purchasing Alliance Board Organizes

A new option for providing health care is one step closer to reality.  The Board of Directors for the Alliance met February 8 in Thief River Falls to begin the process of incorporating.

Board members were selected through a process that involved a wide range of citizen interests.  The Board has primary responsibility for designing, marketing, and implementing a health care program to meet the particular needs of families and communities in NW Minnesota.  The special needs of small business, manufacturing, and farmers are of primary concern.

The initiative was funded by the last session of the Minnesota legislature.  The University of Minnesota Crookston was designated at the organization to coordinate the initiative.
