Second Annual Golden Eagle Golf Tourney Set for June 8 in Hallock

The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Teambackers Club will sponsor the Second Annual Golden Eagle Golf Tourney at the Two River Golf Club in Hallock, Minnesota, on Thursday, June 8.

This scholarship fundraising event is open to anyone who would like to enjoy the company of UMC alumni, friends, staff and others from Hallock and the surrounding area.  

The tournament will be limited to the first 90 golfers.  Registration fees are $25 per person.  Pre-registrations are urged by June 6 and can be sent to Kelly Turgeon, 1037 Birch Drive, Hallock, MN  56728 or to Curt Almlie, UMC, 2900 University Ave., Crookston, MN  56716.  Checks should be made payable to “UMC Teambackers.”  Interested participants can also sign up at the Two River Golf Club in Hallock. 

Final registration for the tournament begins at 10:00 a.m. on June 8.  The format of the tournament will be a Texas Scramble, with tee off at 11:00 a.m.

All proceeds from the tournament go to benefit the Mark Olsonawski Endowed Scholarship.  Through the scholarship, UMC honors Olsonawski on the accomplishments he made while he was a student athlete at UMC from 1995-1999.  Olsonawski is currently employed by Crookston National Bank.

Last year’s tourney added $1,000 to the scholarship fund.  The endowed scholarship amount has reached $6,600.  The goal is to bring the amount to $10,000.
