UMC Student Nominated for Barry Goldwater Scholarship

The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) is pleased to announce that Lucas Clow is the UMC nominee for the 2000 Barry Goldwater Scholarship.  The Barry Goldwater Scholarship Foundation will select two students from each state to receive the scholarship.  The scholarship is presented to students who plan to pursue a career in mathematics or natural sciences.

Clow is from Barrett Minnesota and is majoring in animal industries management.  He is a sophomore and carries a GPA of 4.00.  He is President of Delta Theta Sigma and a member of the Dairy Club at UMC.  Lyle Westrom, Associate Professor of dairy at UMC stated,  "Lucas shows me in classes and work that he desires to be the best he can be."   Dr. Joseph Dalton, Assistant Professor at UMC, said "Lucas has a sincere dedication to learning and has demonstrated leadership skills in various campus organizations."
