"Racial Legacies and Learning: How to Talk About Race" Teleconference Set for UMC January 27

A teleconference entitled Racial Legacies & Learning: How to Talk About Race will be downlinked Wednesday, January 27, from Noon to 2:00 p.m. in Sahlstrom Conference Center AB, at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC). The public is invited.

Talking about race is never easy in American society. But it is necessary, and higher education can play a key role in facilitating dialogue.

Topics included in the teleconference are:

  • How to facilitate meaningful conversations about race.
  • How to develop curricula about race and racial reconciliation.
  • How to form community partnerships that transform race relations, whether in the classroom, on campus, or in the community.
  • What research findings tell us about higher education’s role in providing diversity education.
  • Which diversity skills employers value.
