March 2 Is Non-Traditional Student Day at UMC

A non-traditional student panel will be held on Tuesday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) in Sahlstrom Conference Center 131.

Non-traditional students that are nearing graduation will share some of their experiences of college life. This presentation should be of utmost interest to those who have been contemplating going back and updating their education.

The presentations will not be sugar coated. These students are the first to admit that making a life style change as well as adjusting to student life is no picnic. What they also will share is that there is hope for those who reach for it. They've witnessed students of all ages thrive in the classroom experience.

Brief presentations will be made, but the emphasis will be on the opportunity for visitors to ask questions and visit one on one with the people who have been through this. It will be an opportunity to ask those questions that are sometimes a hang up.

Whether you are a displaced home-maker, a dislocated worker, a transitioning farmer, or somewhere in between, consider taking advantage of this opportunity. This will be a low stress, relaxed atmosphere. Come for the coffee and cookies too. Disability accommodations available upon request. For more information call 1-218-281-8680 or 1-218-686-1439.
