Richard Nelson Named UMC Extension Program Leader

Dr. Richard Nelson, director of the Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC), has accepted the assignment as Interim Extension Collegiate Program Leader for the Crookston Campus effective immediately. He will serve in place of Barbara Muesing during the time she is on special assignment in the University College Dean’s Office.

Nelson will represent UMC at Extension planning and administrative meetings, and serve as liaison to connect Crookston Campus resources with Extension program opportunities. The social and economic crisis in rural Minnesota presents a special opportunity for Extension to connect with a variety of agriculture and technology resources. UMC is an excellent partner for these activities.

Nelson will continue in his director role for UMC’s Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources.
