UMC Names Brad Kerr New Athletic Director
The University of Minnesota, Crookston announced today that Brad Kerr has been named the new Athletic Director at UMC. He replaces Marv Bachmeier, who will retire June 20.

Kerr will become UMC’s third athletic director. He will begin his new duties on July 1, the same day that UMC will become an official member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

Kerr is currently the Athletic Director at Jamestown College. He was named as a finalist for the NAIA National Administrator of the Year in 1997. Kerr has been responsible for the expansion of the Jamestown athletic program to include an athletic scholarship program, new facilities for athletes and other students, expansion of the football stadium, and developing a soccer program and a soccer field on campus. In addition, during Kerr's stay, the college has won 27 NDCAC Team Championships and produced 41 All-Americans and 38 Academic All-Americans. Over the years, Kerr has directed the booster club in enlisting record numbers of members and scholarship dollars.

A 1973 Graduate of East Grand Forks Sacred Heart, Kerr spent eight years at UND as the Head Wrestling Coach before he made his mark at Jamestown College.
