First Annual "UMC Golden Eagle Golf-Arama" to Benefit Mark Olsonawski Scholarship

The first annual "UMC Golden Eagle Golf-Arama" will be held in Hallock on Thursday, June 17, at the Two River Golf Club.

Mark Olsonawski (left) with UMC's Curt AlmlieThe University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Teambackers is happy to initiate the first annual golf tourney in Hallock to benefit the newly established Mark Olsonawski Endowed Scholarship. Through the scholarship, UMC will honor Olsonawski on all of his accomplishments while participating in athletics at UMC and for receiving the heralded All-America honors in football. In addition, he was an excellent example of a student-athlete.

The Golf-Arama begins at 11:00 a.m. with a Texas Scramble Tournament format and shotgun start. Preassembled teams of five are permissible. Individuals without a team will be assigned to teams.

At 5 p.m. there will be a UMC and Northwest School of Agriculture Alumni Social, Awards and the Mark Olsonawski Endowed Scholarship Event. Everyone from the surrounding area is invited to come and visit and participate in the awards and scholarship event.

Registration is $25. The tournament will be limited to the first 90 golfers. Registrations are urged by June 10 and can be sent to Kelly Taurgeon, 1037 Birch Drive, Hallock MN 56728.
