UMC Early Childhood Development Center Groundbreaking Ceremony Set for May 5, 1999

Artists sketch of completed ECDEAll members of the UMC community are invited to a 15 minute "Groundbreaking Celebration" for the new construction of the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) on the UMC campus.  Intersted individuals should gather on the northeast corner of the Dowell Annex at the ECDC construction site at 12:15-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5th

The Early Childhood Development Center will serve three purposes:

1) to serve as a model child development laboratory for students majoring in Early Childhood Education whereby they may recognize, analyze, and demonstrate developmentally appropriate practices and principles of child development, educaiton, and family science theories

2) to provide a high quality early childhood care and education program for young children and their families for the University community and the community-at-large; and

3) to provide a teaching and learning environment for quality educational programming and applied research in child development, early childhood education, parent education, and parent involvement.
