The equine industry is a major business in the United States. Billions of dollars are spent each year on pleasure horses, race horses and their support services. Industry economics constantly challenge the equine professionals to increase, improve and develop new management practices.
"At UMC we balance the practical skills you need to work with and care for horses and the theory you need to build a career. We focus on the business and management aspects of the horse industry so you gain a broad based education, an education that will appeal to employers," said Melissa Hower-Moritz, equine industries management program director.
