School of Agriculture Reunion Set for June 26 And 27
Four alumni will be honored at the annual Northwest School of Agriculture (NWSA) Alumni Reunion during the weekend of June 26 and 27, at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC).
Receiving the Top Aggie Awards will be: Eva Mykleby Pearson 38, St. Paul MN; Maynard Helgaas 53, Jamestown ND; Ronald Filipy 58, Richland WA; and Robert Heckman, 60 68 Faculty, Fertile MN.
Festivities begin on Friday, June 26, with a 7 p.m. All-School Gathering at the Northland Inn in Crookston. "This will be a great time to come and reminisce with other classmates, graduates, former teachers and UMC faculty and staff," according to Bill Gatheridge, NWSA alumni president.
On Saturday, June 27, reunion registration begins at 10 a.m. in the UMC Sahlstrom Conference Center and continues all day. A Pig Roast on the mall is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. with campus tours at 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Class meetings will be held at 2 p.m. This years class pictures will be taken on the mall with cars from each classes era. Pictures will begin at 4 p.m.
The evening buffet dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the annual business meeting and alumni program honoring the 1998 Top Aggies. Alumni are encouraged to stay following the program to visit with classmates.
The class of '48 will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Class leaders for the anniversary celebration are Vernon Bratvold, Crookston MN; Wilford Dostal, Angus MN; and Charles Vind, Fertile MN.
