Kivi Rogers

Comedian Kivi Rogers at UMC February 11

Comedian Kivi Rogers will perform Monday, February 11, at the University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC).  The performance will begin at 8 p.m. in Bede Ballroom on the UMC Campus.  Admission is free to UMC students and $2 for all others.  The event is open to the public.

Friends and relatives say Rogers was always gifted with quick wit, a thousand voices, and a knack for mischief.  And with five brothers as insurance, they knew the stage was set for him to be an entertainer.

After earning a degree in computer electronics, Rogers landed a secure position with reputable computer company.   But with the encouragement of his family and friends, he took a chance and won his very first comedy competition.  Since then his career has been on the rise.

Rogers has showcased at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival and has appeared in the films The Amati Girls, What I Did for Love, and Romey and Michelle's High School Reunion.  He has also guest starred on several TV series including Dharma and Greg, Home Improvement, and Everybody Loves Raymond.  More recently he has appeared on NBC's number one late night program The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

The event is sponsored by UMC’s S.P.A.C.E (Student Programming and Activities for Campus Entertainment) Committee.  Disability accommodations are available upon request and can be made by calling 218-281-8506.
