Second Annual UMC Teambackers Golf Event at Ada 

The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) Teambackers Club is pleased to announce its Second Annual Heart of the Valley Golf Tournament on Friday, August 2, at the Heart of the Valley Golf Club in Ada, Minnesota.  

All area golfers are invited to join several coaching staff members and other staff and faculty from UMC for a fun event with awards and prizes.  The event is cosponsored with Ralph’s Food Pride and Ada VFW Post 7557.

The entry fee of $30 includes green fees, pre-tournament brunch, and post-tournament social.  Proceeds after expenses will go toward the scholarship fund for UMC student athletes.  Prizes of $250, $150, and $100 will be awarded to the top three teams, respectively. 

The event will begin with registration and brunch at 11 a.m.  Tournament tee off is set for 1 p.m.  The format will be a five person scramble, and the tournament will be limited to the first 90 golfers (18 teams).   Preselected teams are permissible.  Individuals without a team will be assigned to teams.  Carts will be available.   A social and awards program will be held approximately 30 minutes after the tournament at the Ada VFW.

Interested golfers should contact Curt Almlie at 218-281-8436 or they may also sign up in person at the Heart of the Valley Clubhouse in Ada.

This event is part of a series of regional summer golf tournaments sponsored by UMC Teambackers and the UMC Alumni Association.  An open invitation stands for all UMC alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and others from the surrounding area.   If you have questions, please contact UMC’s Office of University Relations at 218-281-8436.
