UMC to Offer Evening of One-Act Plays April 15, 16, 17 The UMC Music and Theater Department will present an evening of one-act plays Sunday, April 15, through Tuesday, April 17. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly in Youngquist Auditorium in the Agricultural Research Center. Admission is $4 at the door or $2 in advance from UMC’s Bede Info Desk or from Montague’s Floral or the Nicholas Collections in Crookston. Admission is free for UMC students courtesy of a grant from UMC Concerts and Lectures Committee. The directors are UMC students Rachel Sundbom, a senior majoring in horticulture and marketing from Clearbrook, MN, and Tim Gerla, a sophomore from Climax, MN. Listen to an interview with the directors. Performances each evening will include four one-act plays and two monologue readings.
“Voices,” written by Richard Lortz, is a gripping drama of unrelenting suspense. The cast includes Lacey Schmitz of Red Lake Falls, MN; Ivan LaCoursiere of Red Lake Falls; Staci Slykerman of LaMoure, ND; Amy Hovin of Menahga, MN; and Bel Loll of Campbell, MN. “The
Sound of Two Guys Talking” by David W. Eddy is a discussion of
metaphysical philosophy with your local convenience store clerk.
It stars Hannah Schmidt and Kelly Bisek. |
