Haunted House at UMC October 27 and 28 UMC students will host a "Haunted House" in Bede Student Center on Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event is geared toward older children and adults. Student event organizers have rated it “PG-13," and they say they will "scare the yell out of you!" A $3.00 donation covers admission. Proceeds will be split between the Golden Link Senior Center and renovations for the Children’s Center at the Crookston Public Library. Disability accommodations are available upon request. For more information call 281-8506. This is the fourth year UMC students have planned and operated the Haunted House in Bede Student Center. The students plan, decorate, dress in costume, and operate the entire event. When not being goulish, they work as residence advisors (or RAs) in the campus residence halls or are members of UMC Campus Ministry According to Gary Willhite, Director of Residential Life at UMC, the event generated close to $1000 last year for two local charities: Crookston Violence Intervention Program (VIP) and Crookston Habitat for Humanity. The student sponsors try to help support different community groups each year. |
