campus. Please see if they will let you

borrow their car. As long as they have a valid

insurance card you can use their vehicle.

Can I use a UMC, Vehicle for my Drivers Test? Due to policy this is not an option.

Renting a vehicle

Many international students have rented a vehicle through the Grand Forks Airport . There are these three rental options:

Here are the rules of renting a vehicle in the United States .

If you rent, please note that you will be advised to take all the insurance that is available for each rental. This includes Liability, and Collision Insurance. If you do not take these insurance plans and if you have an accident you could be personally sued by individuals in your car or from the other car. Along with being sued, you would also be liable to pay all expenses to pay for the damages of the car.

What to do in case you get in an accident

If you should get into an accident, stay calm. You will need to do a few things before you leave the scene of an accident.

  1. Collect information from the other driver. This includes, their insurance policy number, group number, and insurance plan
  2. Get the name of the other driver
  3. Write down an accident report. If a police arrives on site, than you will do the report with the officer. Otherwise you will need to do another report for your insurance company.
  4. Never leave a site if you were involved with an accident or you could be charged with a hit and run.
  5. Make sure to give the other driver all your insurance information.
