Student Information

UMC's Dining Services provides a variety of nutritious meals to students, staff, and groups.   Meals are available at UMC from the first day of class each semester through lunch on the last scheduled day of final examinations.  Special events and catering for any occasion are also available.  Under their residence hall contracts, campus residents may choose from several meal plan options. Students who live off-campus may also purchase meal plans, or purchase food ala carte.  The Eagles Nest, a convenience store located on the ground floor of the Conference Center, offers a variety of grocery items and snacks.

House Rules

To help things run more smoothly (and to meet health law requirements) we have a few "house rules:"

  1. Student Conduct: All guests are expected to conduct themselves in a polite manner.  Behavior such as profanity, food fights, and theft will not be tolerated.
  2. Dress Code: Shoes and shirt are required. Rollerblades are not allowed anywhere in the Sahlstrom Conference Center.
  3. Clean Up: Community living requires that everyone be considerate of one another. Please clean up after yourself!
  4. Backpacks: Backpacks may be brought into the dining room, please bring your backpack to a table before you enter the line area. Backpacks tend to be large and heavy and can tend to cause food spills in the line area.  Lockers are available just outside the dining room if you would rather get your bags out of way. Dining services is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  5. To Go Boxes: All foods must be eaten in the dining room.  Take out containers are allowed and encouraged but contents must be consumed off premises.  A scan is used per take out container.
  6. One meal swipe per meal period. Guest passes are available at the Dining Service Office(3 per semester.)

Sack Lunches

Sack meals are available. A sack meal consists of one or two sandwiches, bag of chips or vegetables, piece of fruit, two cookies and a beverage. Can be used as a meal swipe or Eagle Bucks.

Sick Trays

Feeling Under the Weather? Students unable to attend a meal due to an illness may have a friend or an RA pick up a sick tray for them. Please send your meal card with the individual. A sick tray consists of soup, crackers, Jello, juice or soda pop.

"I Can't Find My Meal Card"

UMC Dining Services operates on an electronic meal card system. Contract students or debit card customers who have misplaced or lost their U-Card must purchase a new card. The cost to replace a broken or lost card is $15.00 per card.  Absolutely no purchase (other than cash purchases) will be accepted without a Meal Card. If a card is lost or stolen, students should contact dining services so the card can be locked out of the system, preventing further charges.
