1971
Stephens Hall razed. Renovation and addition to Kiehle Building. Renovation of Knutson Hall.

1972
Dedication of Skyberg, Dowell Hall, and the Kiser Building on February 6. Minority program to facilitate entrance and retention of students from various ethnic groups initiated

1973
Home and Family Services Program approved by Board of Regents. In the fall, the UMC Children’s Center opened

1974
Office of Continuing Education and Community Services established

1975
UMC’s first exchange student goes to England as part of the College’s United Kingdom Reciprocal Exchange Program (UKRE)

1976
First UKRE faculty exchange. UMC faculty member goes to England and British instructor comes to UMC. His name was Cedric Osborne.

1977
Dedication of Brink Hall in honor of the late Regent Lyman A. Brink

1977
Lee Hall built is named for L. J. Lee. member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents from 1972-1979.

1979
UMC Library was completed, along with the enclosed walkway connection to Dowell Hall.

1980
Conference Center completed

1981
Gymnasium constructed and named for Herschel H. Lysaker

1983
Hafslo Church moved to UMC campus

1985
Donald Sargeant, Ph.D. appointed provost of Crookston campus on May 16. The title for all coordinate campus chief executive officers is subsequently changed from provost to chancellor. Inauguration ceremonies for UMC's second leader are held December 20.

1988
University of Minnesota Regents officially change the name of Crookston campus to University of Minnesota, Crookston.

1990's
The campus mall was redesigned with sidewalks and spectacular flower gardens.
