UMC Centennial

Our Centennial Celebration concluded with commencement in May 2006. This Web page has archived information and details regarding events and activities.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) celebrates 100 years of excellence in academics and research with the kickoff of its centennial on June 24 & 25, 2005 and continuing through commencement in May 2006. Some of the events planned for the centennial are the dedication of the Centennial Park memorial wall, the dedication of the new student center, along with centennial activities surrounding homecoming, and other special events. There will be a special dedication of the Bede Ballroom in the new student center during the NWSA reunion this summer as well.

UMC Video History

' During student convocation in March 2005, UMC unveiled the centennial logo in a special video presentation. UMC CEO, Joe Massey narrates this historical unveiling and this event was the first in a yearlong celebration of our campus history.

 

Who's Coming to the Centennial?

'On Sept. 23 & 24, 2005 UMC will celebrate a special homecoming! Faculty and staff throughout UMC's history are being invited back to campus for a special reunion. Click here if you would like to see who is coming back for this homecoming celebration.

 

Centennial Logo History

'The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) centennial logo is a unique design that features the University of Minnesota, Crookston “M” logo while paying tribute to UMC’s predecessor, the Northwest School of Agriculture (NWSA).
