soon be delivering a packet of information to each UMC employee. In the packet you will
find:
- A letter explaining this year's fundraising effort
- A pledge/payroll deduction form
- A United Way brochure
- A Minnesota Environmental Fund brochure
- A return envelope addressed to the UMC Business Office
This year's captains are Gail Hasbrouck, Don Cavalier, Connie Camrud,
Dennis Magsam, Anne Burke, Sharon Olson, Jean Rock, Peggy Sherven, Jane Sims, Cindy Tyler,
Stephanie Reck, and Owen Williams.
Please return the pledge/payroll deduction form in the return envelope.
(If you choose no contribution, please indicate this on the form and return it.)
The United Way goal this year for UMC is $6,500, and I will report on
our progress in the Bulletin. Thank you to everyone for your consideration.

Web Registration
for Career Center
Beginning October 1, UMCs
Counseling and Career Center will begin using Web Registration and Web Walkup. This
leading-edge change will mean that students will no longer need to come to the Center, but
will have access to registration, reviewing jobs on-line, and see who is interviewing on
campus 24 hours a day.

Test Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
Students with disabilities who request
exam accommodations must 1) document the disability in the Office for Students with
Disabilities and have the requested accommodation approved, and 2) make the request in
advance of exam time to allow for staff coverage of the exam to be arranged. Each quarter,
students with disabilities are expected to have these requests verified by letters sent to
individual faculty from the Office for Students with Disabilities (119 Bede Hall, Laurie
Wilson).
It is not recommended that faculty distribute exams to individual
students without arrangements being confirmed by staff in OSD, the Academic Assistance
Center, Student Support Services, or Student Health (during times of high demand).
Only staff are permitted to administer exams to
students. Those staff usually are: Linda Rains, Claudia Barton, Fran Chihanski, Lynn
Gevens, or Laurie Wilson. Staff will arrange to pick up the exam from the faculty member
and return it to a designated person or location upon completion.
If you have questions or concerns about this
procedure, please contact me at 8587 or e-mail lwilson. Thank you.
