Fall Semester Registration Period Postponed
The scheduled fall semester registration period for returning students has been postponed by two weeks. Originally scheduled to begin on April 19th, registration will now begin on May 3rd and end on May 13th. The fall semester class schedule will be available on April 26th. Reasons for the delay are the late Campus Assembly meeting this term, the implementation of the new PeopleSoft registration system, and the preparation of the new semester catalog. Please contact Bob Nelson at nelson@mail.crk.umn.edu or 281-8560 if you have questions or concerns.

Blood Drive
Did you know that one single blood donation can help as many as three different patients? Please consider donating blood at UMC's second blood drive of the year on Tuesday, April 13th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Bede Ballroom. Stop by the Sahlstrom Conference Center entrance over your noon hour the week of April 5-9 to schedule an appointment. Our goal is 51 donors. We can do it! Help us to make this UMC's most successful blood drive yet! Contact me at 8512 for more information.

Take Back the Night
Mark your calendars for the Second Annual "Take Back the Night" Community Rally and March for Thursday, April 29th at 7 p.m. at the Crookston High School Commons. This event is held to educate about the problems of violence in our society and to promote alternatives to violence … especially violence related to sexual assault, domestic abuse and child abuse.

The event begins with a brief program at CHS, continues with a group walk to Central Park, and concludes with a bonfire, short program and meditation at the park.

Last year 150 men, women and children participated in this event, and were assisted by the UMC Sexual Assault Prevention Task Force, Campus Ministry, Student Ambassadors, Cultures United Club, and AmeriCorps.

We hope that YOU will consider joining us this year to "Take Back the Night".

UMC Hosts Youth Career Conference
The Youth Career Conference for career-minded youth in grades 9 and 10 will be held June 20 to 25. The conference offers an exciting opportunity for young people to explore career options in agriculture, communications, science, finance, sales, management, education, manufacturing and other areas. The event will provide students with a dynamic learning experience where they can tour businesses, explore their own interests and talents, and learn business techniques for their future careers. Boys and girls begin their conference at the U of M Twin Cities, travel next to Southwestern State University and conclude their week at UMC. Applications are available at the UMC Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources and high school counselor offices, or can be downloaded at: http://www.umcrookston.edu/ag/ycc. Deadline to apply is April 15th.
