Airport Open House
An Open House is scheduled for the Crookston Airport on Friday, January 8, at 11 a.m. Through the joint efforts of UMC and city of Crookston, the airport was remodeled to allow for better air service to the region and for enhanced learning opportunities for UMC’s aviation students.

Taking part in the Open House will be: Donald Dubuque, UND director of Extension Programs; Donald Sargeant, UMC chancellor; Donald Osborne, Crookston mayor; Richard Nelson, chair of the Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources; Larry Leake, Agriculture Aviation program manager; and John Walberg, Agriculture Aviation flight training manager.

Following a short program, refreshments will be served and guests may tour the remodeled facilities. All faculty and staff are invited.

The Epicurean Room
The Epicurean Room is open for lunch on Thursdays from January 7 until February 11. Reservations are required and there is a nominal charge. The Epicurean Room is operated by students in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management program and is located in Sahlstrom Conference Center 122. Students plan the menu, prepare the food, and provide table service. Please contact Trish Ramstad at x8256 to make your reservation.

New Services at the Bookstore
New services at the Bookstore include:

  • Expanded hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Film developing ¾ 24 hour service if dropped off before 11 a.m.
  • Cable payment drop-off box
  • UPS shipping

Training Session on the University's Policy Regarding Nepotism and Consensual Relationships
The University of Minnesota will be broadcasting a half-day workshop explaining the University's policies regarding Nepotism and Consensual Relationships. This workshop is designed for supervisors, managers, department heads, and program managers as well as all University employees.

UMC will participate in the workshop via the ITV network. The training will occur on January 25, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon in Sahlstrom Conference Center 108.

Completed Penny Drive
UMC Student Ambassadors wish to thank the UMC Campus Community, and especially the students in Residential Life, who contributed $223.09 to the Holiday Penny Drive this year. The funds were delivered to the Care and Share Center on December 21, 1998 along with the food drive donations from the Agronomy Club and the UMC Bookstore, and the gifts from the Angel Tree sponsored by the UMC Service Learning Office. You all made a difference in the life of someone at the Care and Share Center.
