RED RIVER
LEARNING CORRIDOR
Four area universities will collaborate to improve learning
opportunities for their students and economic opportunities for
their region. The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC);
Mayville State University (MSU); Valley City State University
(VCSU); and Northwest Technical College (NWTC) have joined to
form the Red River Learning Corridor.
All four institutions provide notebook computers to all students and faculty. The chief executive officers from the four institutions have signed a Memorandum of Agreement reflecting a consensus that a relationship is emerging between the institutions that will provide mutual benefits to faculty, staff and students, as well as the region. Signing the document was: Donald Sargeant, UMC; Ray Cross, NWTC; and Ellen Chaffee, MSU and VCSU.
The purpose of the Red River Learning Corridor
is to create a world-class learning infrastructure that enhances
the lives of the people in the Red River Region.

"On behalf of the Board of Regents, I want to express
our appreciation to you for hosting the September Board meetings
on the Crookston campus. The efforts of you and your staff made
our two days of meetings a success. We are particularly grateful
because we know of the many extra demands on your time that these
meetings can entail.
"Highlights of the two days include the
wonderful tour of the campus and the dedication of the Sahlstrom
Conference Center. But overall, we received many favorable
comments about how much people enjoyed these meetings."
--William E. Hogan II, Chair, Board of Regents
