FACULTY AND STAFF ACCOLADES

THANKS TO ALL AT UMC
I want to say thank you for the Distinguished P & A Award I received at the Faculty and Staff Banquet last Friday. Thanks to everyone at UMC! It was a honor to be recognized in such a manner. I really do enjoy working here at UMC. The best parts of my job have to be the relationships I've developed with most everyone. It's fun to work in a progressive educational atmosphere. I will continue to try to be as helpful in any area I can.

I want to thank a few people, in particular, without whom I couldn't do my job. Thanks to Gary Willhite, Jack Bywater, and Bob Nelson, who took the chance and hired me in the respective positions I've held here at UMC: Assistant Director of Residential Life, Admissions Counselor, and Website Coordinator. Thanks for the opportunity and support!

I'd also like to thank the following people (in no particular order) for enabling me, through their professional support and friendship, to do the best I can: Don Medal, Fred Eldridge, John Zak, Deb Zak, Del Wright, Dennis Magsam, Dan Lim, Bruce Brorson, Peg Sherven, Dale "Doc" Kemble, Sue Kreager, Jacquie Normandin, Dean McCleary, Doug Knowlton, Barbara Muesing, Jane Sims, Owen Williams, Robbie McGurran, Connie Batten, Laurie Wilson, Stacey Grunewald, Stephanie Reck, Karen Murphy, Deb Brule, Sue Dwyer, Patti Tiedemann, Jeff Sinks, Pam Holsinger-Fuchs, Tim Harrison, Rae French, Anne Nesset, and Don Sargeant. Thanks also to ALL the other faculty and staff who help keep me challenged by making use of my knowledge, limited as it is. If I missed your name, I am sorry, and I thank you for your help and support.

Finally, congratulations to Val Uttermark and Wendell Johnson. Val, you are a great person to work with (thanks for your assistance with Web registration), and you are very deserving of the Distinguished Civil Service Award. Wendell, I really respect you. I am glad to see you recognized as the Outstanding Educator. You set the bar high and help prove that our students CAN rise to the occasion and perform well academically.
Very sincerely,
--Andrew Svec

THANKS
Words cannot express my gratitude to all of the UMC students, faculty, and staff in your expression of sympathy and condolences upon the death of my mother (Mrs. Raymond Brunkhorst) last week. It was heartwarming to receive your comforting cards and letters and you have no idea of how much your good wishes meant to Mary and myself. My special thanks to all of you for your concern and memorials. It was "greatly" appreciated.
--Don (and Mary) Cavalier
