The Spring Quarter Campus Assembly meeting will be held
Thursday, April 23, at 4 p.m. in Dowell Hall 212. Refreshments
will be available before the meeting.

MAGIC NUMBER FOR FALL QUARTER, 1998
All students, whether using web registration or registering
in person for a closed class, must have a magic
number. Otherwise, instructors will not be able to keep track of
how many overrides have been given.

COMPREHENSIVE
REVIEW FOR DIRECTOR OF HUMAN
RESOURCES LES JOHNSON
In accordance with University policy, Vice Chancellor
McCleary has appointed a review committee to collect and evaluate
information concerning Les Johnson in his role as Director of
Human Resources at UMC. The members of this review committee are:
Marsha Odom, chair
Kathe Lemmerman
David Crawford
The committee will be soliciting input from
faculty, staff, students, and other constituents in the near
future.

FREBERG
ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW
Del Roelofs, Bob Johnson, Pam Holsinger-Fuchs, and Jerry Rude
have agreed to serve on Kent Freberg's administrative
comprehensive five-year review committee. They will be conducting
the review committee. They will be conducting the review spring
quarter.

KATHE LEMMERMAN REVIEW
COMMITTEE APPOINTED
Bill Peterson has agreed to chair the 3-year comprehensive
review for Kathe Lemmerman, Director of Continuing Education.
Serving with Bill will be Vern Markey and Deb Zak. They will be
organizing and conducting the review consistent with the
guidelines established by the Office of Human Resources.

CIVIL SERVICE/BARGAINING UNIT SERVICE AWARDS
Attached to the UMC Bulletin is information about the
Distinguished Service Award for civil service/bargaining unit
employees.
Award: One (1) stipend of $500, an individual plaque, and name on plaque located on UMC campus. Eligibility: A minimum of two years of full-time (75% or above) employment at the University of Minnesota, Crookston Campus. No individual may receive the award more than one time during their employment. Use the application form in this week's UMC Bulletin. Applications are due May 1.

UMC MUSIC-THEATER
DEPARTMENT SPRING PRODUCTION
The Music-Theater Department is presenting the two-act
musical melodrama "Lurking on the Railroad or Will She Give
Him a Wide Berth" May 9-12 at 7:30 p.m. in Kiehle
Auditorium. The cast of 18 students includes Eric Perkins, Darci
Delage, Bridget Stortroen, Rebekah Stortroen, Kiowa Ackley, Shane
Naslund, Keturah Kelley, Matt Smith, Eric Klindt, Rachel Sundbom,
plus chorus.
Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students
and children. The show, which features a lot of slapstick and
comedy, is suitable for everyone.

ADVISEMENT AND REGISTRATION
Mark your calendars! The dates for the 1998 Academic Advisement
and Registration have been set! These dates are as follows:
May 26 -- 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
May 27 -- 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
May 28 -- 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
May 29 -- 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
June 5 -- 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
August 21 -- 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The dates for the 1998 Fall Orientation will be
September 7-9. Classes begin on September 10. The theme for both
Academic Advisement and Registration and Orientation is
"Building for the Future" at UMC. More details on
specific activities will be provided at a later date. Thank you.

The Bookstore hours this summer will be from 11:30 a.m. to
