RESERVED PARKING PERMITS NOW AVAILABLE
Beginning Friday, January 9th, the Business Office
will sell reserved parking spaces to interested faculty, staff,
and students. The reserved permit is an annual permit for a specific
reserved parking space in either E lot or the new D-South
lot. The reserved parking space includes an electrical outlet for
cold temperatures. The price of the reserved parking permit
for the 97-98 year is $100. (Because of delays in the
delivery of the reserved spaces, the 97-98 permit price will be
discounted to $85.) Those vehicles with reserved parking permits
are allowed to park in any of the UMC parking lots (similar to an
all-lot-parking permit).
Twenty numbered spaces (1-20) are available in E lot (North row), and seventy-nine numbered spaces (21-99) are available in the D-South lot. Due to the cost of electrical power demand, all outlets will be controlled by temperature, time of day, and day of week. Outlets will be energized from 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and all hours of the day/night on Saturday and Sunday. No outlets will be energized at anytime when the temperature is above 15 degrees F. Users are encouraged not to connect their vehicle to the electrical outlets if they know they will not be using their vehicle the following day.
Only those vehicles with the appropriately numbered reserved parking permit will be allowed in the reserved parking spaces. Each assigned reserved parking space will have Signage to correspond with the number on the permit. Signage identifies the spaces as "reserved - special permit required." Unauthorized vehicles in reserved parking spaces will be ticketed, towed and stored at the owner's expense. Only those vehicles with the appropriate reserved parking permit may use the electrical outlets provided. Any vehicle without a valid reserved parking permit, which is plugged into a reserved parking outlet, will be ticketed, towed and stored at the owner's expense.
The reserved parking permits are being sold on
a "first come first served" basis. Students who have
put their names on a waiting list will be given top priority.
