ANGEL TREE
There is a tree in Bede Lounge that began with names of some 40 men, women and
children from the area that are either homeless or living in shelters in Crookston. We
still need people to stop by and take the names of some of these needy individuals. You
buy a gift for them and return the gift wrapped with the angel tag on the outside by
December 22. The amount you spend is up to you. This holiday, have your family help those
less fortunate in our community. The Angel Tree is sponsored by the Service-Learning
Office.

JOHNSON NOMINATED FOR EHRLICH AWARD
Congratulations to Glenice Johnson for being nominated for the Thomas Ehrlich Faculty
Award for Service Learning. The award is named in honor of Thomas Ehrlich, former chair of
the Campus Compact Executive Committee and former president of Indiana University. The
award encourages the integration of service learning into academic programs and supports
faculty efforts to institutionalized service learning. Glenice was nominated for this
award based on her integration of the Adopt-a-Grandparent program into her Gerontology
class.
