COMMENCEMENT
UMC Student Forum President Lance Reitmeier, plant industries management major from Fisher, will pass the Torch to President-elect Mark Erickson, business management major from Fertile.

President of the UMC Alumni Association, Carl Melbye, class of 1977, will offer congratulations to the graduates. The presentation of colors will be by the Grand Forks Air Force Base Color Guard, and special music will be presented by the UMC Choir under the direction of George French, assistant professor of music and theater.

UMC BULLETIN
The May 29 issue of the UMC Bulletin will be the last weekly issue to be delivered on campus this academic year. Summer issues will be mailed to your home address (using the Computer Center labels) once a month. Labels will come from Debi Brule in the Chancellor’s Office. If you have a change of address, please let her know.

TORCH AND SHIELD NOMINATIONS
Torch and Shield Award selection will take place the first of September. If you would like to nominate a person for this award, please send the name and reason for nomination to the Chancellor’s Office before the end of August. Torch and Shield will be held Wednesday, October 29, 1997.

FAREWELL RECEPTION FOR GLENICE JOHNSON
Please join us in extending our best wishes to Glenice Johnson at a farewell reception in her honor. The reception will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at 3 p.m. in Conference Center ABC. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended my retirement reception, contributed to my gifts and helped in any way to have made it a very special day. The lovely refreshments and gifts were wonderful but the very special part of the day was visiting with friends, both on and off campus.
