DIKE WALKERS NEEDED
We have received a plea for dike walkers. This is for a two hour shift; as of April 15, they are going 24 hours a day. You need to call one of the emergency centers to find out when they need help. The numbers are as follows:

EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD NOMINATIONS
Due to hectic schedules, intense flood preparations, and storms, the deadline for nominations for the Distinguished Service Award has been extended until April 21st. Take a few minutes now and nominate a UMC employee in each of the following categories: 1) Civil Service B/U, 2) Faculty, 3) Professional and Academic. BAREFOOT IN THE PARK
"Barefoot in the Park" will be performed by the Repertory Theater of America on Wednesday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium. A dinner theater option is available. Guests may go through the UMC line between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10.50 for dinner and show. Cost for the show alone is $5.00. To make a reservation for the dinner, call me at 8266.

TRAVEL TO ITALY
UMD’s University College Continuing Education is sponsoring a travel trip to Italy May 27 through June 16. Participants will earn 4 credits and experience an exciting 21 day trip to the province of Marche along the Adriatic coast near the town of Pergola, Italy. Numerous field trips to medieval and renaissance villages, two days in Rome, Italian language, cooking and culture lessons are all included. For details, call me at 8680.

APRIL 17, UNIVERSITY SENATE/FACULTY SENATE/STUDENT SENATE MEETINGS
On Thursday, April 17, meetings of the Student Senate, University Senate, and Faculty Senate will be held on the Minneapolis Campus, with a telephone connection to the proceedings in 305 Selvig Hall.

The Student Senate will convene at 11:30 a.m. Its agenda will include a discussion of teaching evaluations and action on 1) a resolution welcoming President-elect Yudof, 2) tuition, and 3) a restructuring on the Student Committee on Committees.

The University Senate will convene at 2 p.m. Its agenda includes a discussion of the proposed Policy on Sexual Harassment and Consensual Relationships and action on 1) amendments to the Semester Conversion Standards, 2) amendment of the 1999-2000 University Calendar, 3) amendment of the Uniform Grading and Transcript Policy, 4) a Policy on Transfer of Credit, and 5) an Award for Outstanding Contributions to Graduate and Professional Education. President Hasselmo will also provide a report and respond to questions.

The Faculty Senate will convene immediately following the University Senate. Its agenda includes an information item concerning the Academic Misconduct Policy.
