UMC
Diversity Center to Open December 16
The UMC Diversity Center, a
center for all students, is scheduled to open Thursday, December 16 in
Dowell Hall 120. The purpose of the Diversity Center at University of
Minnesota Crookston is to foster a sense of community among students,

cultures to meet, to explore their heritages, and to work toward
understanding, respect, and appreciation for the diversity within our
campus community and society.
The objectives of the
Center are to:
-
Provide a supportive
environment to all students, faculty, staff, and administrators in
which to gather informally as well as a resource library and study and
meeting space.
-
Promote an
appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism on campus and Crookston
community.
-
Support pride and
promote community among all students.
-
Foster cooperation
and communication within UMC’S campus and Crookston community.
Stop in and see what
UMC’s Diversity Center has to offer!
The Tradition Continues …
Holiday Penny Jar
Looking for just the right place
for those excess holiday pennies? Through December 20, the Academic
Assistance Center, Student Support Services, Office for Students with
Disabilities, and Counseling and Career Services offices have made a
giant penny jar available for you to deposit your spare coins in.
Monetary donations will be split between the Care and Share Center for
homeless individuals and families and the Polk County Humane Society.
This is a great time to clean out your desk drawers, purse, pockets and
care seats and put those spare coins (or bills) to good use. You’ll be
amazed at how those pennies can add up and make a difference for two
important community resources.
