bring positive leadership to the Admissions Office. Jim Mootz, Vice
Chancellor for Enrollment Management, will be leaving the Crookston

United
Way Update
We unofficially closed this
year’s campaign on Monday, December 6, 2004. I say unofficially because
we will still take any pledge that anyone may have forgotten to send in.
At this time, we have
received pledges from 49 individuals, which is 17.37% of the individuals
who received packets. From these 49 pledges we received a total amount
of $4909, which is 70.12% of our goal of $7000 to the United Way. We
also received pledges from 12 individuals, 8.48% of the individuals
receiving packets, in the amount of $594 for the MN Environmental Fund.
A breakdown of the
pledges specified for the United Way is as follows:
16 individuals, 32.65% of the pledges were paid by check, in the amount
of $1357, which is 27.64% of the total. Zero individual, 0.00% of the
pledges chose direct billing as the method of payment. 30
individuals, 61.22% of the pledges chose payroll deduction, in the
amount of $3502, which is 71.13% of the total.
A breakdown of the
pledges specified for the MN Environmental Fund is as follows:
3 individuals, 25.00% of the pledges were paid by check, totaling $295
or 49.66% of the total pledges and 9 individuals, 75.00% of the pledges
were designated to be paid via payroll deduction for a total of $299
or 50.33% of the total pledges.
At this time we would
like to say a heart felt THANK YOU to all who participated in the 2005
United Way campaign on the UMC campus. Your efforts in helping to make
this campaign a success will be greatly appreciated by many individuals
who will receive a helping hand from the various organizations sponsored
by the United Way.
A special thank you
goes out to the individuals who so graciously accepted the role of
captain for this year’s campaign and to Joe Massey, Pamela
Holsinger-Fuchs, Laurie Wilson, Stephanie Helgeson, Don Cavalier, Lisa
Loegering, and Anne Burke for serving on this year’s United Way
Committee. This just goes to show that together, we can make things
happen.
--Dennis Magsam, Audio Visual Operations Manager
Thank You

“To all of my UMC and community friends. Thank you so much for
welcoming Jinny and me at the November 30 event in Kiehle Rotunda.
Sometimes, we work so much that we don’t take the time to stop and greet
each other, and chat. You all have come to be very special to me in
these past four months. Just one year ago, I never would have dreamt of
having new friends and a completely changed life. It’s been a great
four months and I look forward to 2005. It’s so appropriate to me that
the event happened around Thanksgiving and the holiday season. So,
thank you.”
