UMC
Presents “Last Words” October 21
“Last Words” by Ken Carnes, will be presented Thursday,

8 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium. From law schools to off-Broadway

dumb-founded.” (Geni Sereno, ‘The Sun’) “Last Words”
dramatically recreates actual testimony of condemned inmates in a
seamless story of one man facing final appeal where you, the audience,
become his jury. Decide the sentence, deepen your discussion, and
IGNITE YOUR CAMPUS!
This performance is sponsored by UMC Concerts and Lectures
Committee and is free to UMC students, $2 non-UMC, tel: 281-8505.

Net Facilities
to Provide New Work Order System
About a week ago we signed a
license agreement with a company that’s based out of California called
Net Facilities. This company offers a server based software that
supports work orders, inventory systems, and facilities labor usage. I
have updated our website to reflect this change. Please feel free to
email me if you would like to be set up as a user. This will work a lot
like the SURE system. You can go into it and create a work order. From
that, I will get a notification that a work order has been submitted. I
will be able to go in, review the work order, then accept, discuss, or
deny it. If your work order is accepted, I will then distribute it to
the appropriate tradesman. If your work order is denied, I will enter a
reason why it is being denied (maybe it is already entered by another
user and is in the process of being completed). Of the UMC users, some
being students, that have started using this software, everything that
has come back, so far, is positive! Please email me with any questions
or if you would like to be set up as a user. Thanks!

Accolades
Please
join me in congratulating Bob Nelson on his being presented the
highly prestigious MCPA Linda Schrempp Albert Outstanding Contribution
to Minnesota Higher Education award. The purpose of this award is to
honor a professional whose work with students and work in one of
Minnesota’s institutions of higher education sets an example for all
student development professionals. This award recognizes a practicing
professional in higher education or a retired professional in the
student affairs profession within the State of Minnesota. In my three
months here, I have grown to rely heavily on Bob’s dedication and wisdom
in the area of student service. Thanks for your work, Bob. And,
congratulations!
--Joe Massey, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
Congratulations
to Dan Svedarsky and his colleagues on all their hard work and
success having the government set aside and designate the Glacial Ridge
National Wildlife Refuge, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service. This presents an enormous benefit to the natural resource base
of our area, both in terms of flora and fauna. Its designation will
greatly help in our efforts to establish permanent, long-term study
plots based out of UMC. Dan, congratulations!
--Joe Massey, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Experience is NOT
necessary. Any clubs or individuals interested in helping with
construction of the house should contact Lisa Loegering (loege005) in
