Events The Rolling Plains Art Gallery will be in Crookston at the American Federal Bank parking lot September 29 through October 4, 2004. Identity and Vision in Minnesota and North Dakota is a new exhibition created for the Rolling Plains Art Gallery. It reflects a search for beauty and inspiration with images that portray cultural traditions and heritage as well as the social, political and economic issues of the day. The artwork offers an engaging view of our connections to the place we call home from the perspective of 31 contemporary artists from the two states. The exhibition includes painting, sculpture, decorative arts, printmaking, photography and computer-generated art. The gallery is the signature outreach program of the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, ND, and is housed in a 48-foot semi-trailer. Each school year, the gallery alternately tours the states of Minnesota and North Dakota. The Rolling Plains Art Gallery will be available for public viewing September 29 and 30 and October 1 and 4 from 3 to 7 p.m., and October 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Special Dates Birthdays Reminder: Faculty and staff are encouraged to share well wishes for birthdays, anniversaries, births, etc. with the rest of the campus. Please send items for this week’s special dates via e-mail to Sue Dwyer at sdwyer@umn.edu. Thanks.
