Tuition assessment for a Wisconsin reciprocity student taking distance education courses do not include Distance Education courses. Reciprocity agreements does not cover Distance Education courses that are charged a different tuition rate.

 

Proposed online tuition 2008-2009
The U of M, Crookston’s flat-rate tuition strategy makes all credits above 13 per semester tuition-free. Students taking 13 or more credits may pay a flat tuition rate of $3,458 per semester in 2008-2009. Students taking 1 to 12 credits may be assessed $266 per credit plus fees.

How much will I be charged? Students taking 15 or more credits will pay $3,224. Students taking 12 credits or fewer will pay $248 per credit. For any online courses, a separate $15 fee for each online credit will also be charged. For example: if you take four 3-credit classes on campus and one 3-credit online class, you will be charged the flat rate of $3,224 for tuition plus $45 for online credit fees. Or if you enroll in two 3-credit class and one 3-credit online class, you will be charged $2,232 in tuition (9 credits) plus an additional $45 for online credit fees.

*NOTICE: NO PAPER COPIES OF YOUR TUITION BILL WILL BE MAILED. YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR BILL ELECTRONICALLY IN YOUR UMC EMAIL ACCOUNT.

Student Account e-Billing Statement

Students will be sent a Student Account e-billing statement January 16, 2007 amount of financial aid (FAAN) credited to their account, the amount due, and the minimum payment due.

Statements will be sent to students' UMC Email address. Student account e-billing statements are e-mailed monthly.

Students may pay for tuition, fees, room and board, and other institutional charges in person at the Business Office located in Selvig Hall, by mail, or online. To avoid a late fee charge, all fees must be paid in full by the due dates. Online Students may use a credit card to pay their account balances by calling the UMC Business Office at: 218-281-8331

The following credit cards are accepted: Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club.

Non Degree Students

Effective Fall 2005: As a non-degree student, you must pay all tuition and fee charges, or make financial arrangements with the Renee Mulcahy, Principal Accounts Specialist in the Business Affairs Office at 110 Selvig Hall or call 218-281-8325, prior to the start of the semester or your classes may be canceled.

Late Fees

If you do not pay the total amount owed by the first due date of each term, you will be charged an installment fee. You will also be charged a late fee if you pay less than the minimum payment due (30 percent by the first billing statement due date, 60 percent by the second billing, and 100 percent by the third billing).

Financial Aid Holds

Your financial aid will be placed on hold any time that you:

  • report an incorrect name or social security number;
  • are suspended for academic reasons;
  • fail to make satisfactory academic progress as defined by our office;
  • exceed the academic progress maximum time frame limit to complete your degree;
  • have a billing hold for financial aid which must be repaid;
  • fail to update estimated information from original financial aid application;
  • fail to report correct enrollment status for each term;
  • fail to respond to requests for information from our office;
  • go into default on a loan from another post secondary institution.

***NOTE: If, for any reason, you do not receive financial aid, you are still responsible for paying for your tuition and fees.
