Kari Torkelson, O.D.

U of M, Crookston Alumni Association President Kari Torkelson (ex. '91) is no stranger to the Crookston campus. While attending the U of M, Crookston, she participated in volleyball, basketball, a choir member, a resident assistant and member of Campus Ministry. Kari then went on to achieve her doctorate at Indiana University in optometry. She is an optometrist at Lifetime Vision Center in Grand Forks, N.D. | more

Gerhard Ross

Northwest School of Agriculture Alumni Association past-president Gerhard Ross graduated in 1945 and went on to the University of Minnesota where he received his bachelor's degree in 1953 and master's degree in 1962.|more

Homecoming 2007 will "Let the Good Times Roll"

Homecoming 2007 is set for October 5-6 and the theme for this year's event is "Let the Good Times Roll." Check out news & events for details of the weekend's festivities and plan now to join alumni and friends in Crookston. On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Golden Eagle soccer team will play Minnesota State University-Moorhead, Upper Iowa will face the Golden Eagles in the homecoming football match-up and the Golden Eagle volleyball team takes on Southwest Minnesota State. Golden Eagles Bring Hope in City Reconstruction

Over 80 Golden Eagle football, soccer and hockey student-athletes traveled to Northwood, N.D., to assist the town in clean-up efforts early September. Northwood was ravaged by a tornado on Sunday, Aug. 26. The teams assisted the town by cleaning up debris in the area's cornfields. Student-athletes also moved furniture and books from the heavily damaged school to the newly dubbed Hatton-Northwood high school in neighboring Hatton, N.D. | more

 

U of M, Crookston Talent Stands Out at Great Minnesota Get-Together

Students, alumni, staff and faculty experts from the Crookston campus set up shop in the U of M Building at the Minnesota State Fair in late August and shared their talents and stories about the exceptional applied-learning and research experiences happening in northwestern Minnesota. | more
