 Summarize Your Experience:
My internship experience was a great experience that allowed me to be exposed to many facets of the soil and water conservation field. I was able to gain extensive experience in the areas of water quality and GIS. These skills will be a tremendous asset to me as I enter the job market.

What I liked about the job:
The one thing I liked about my job was the flexibility that was given to me. I was able to take my own initiative in getting tasks done.

What I disliked about  the job:

The one thing I disliked about my job was the lack of communication between myself   and the director of our office. I sometimes would question myself if I was working on   the right task that he wanted me to be working on.

Areas that I need to learn more about:
I noticed I need to learn more about engineering and how environmental projects are designed. I have a lot of interest in these areas, however very limited experience. I feel that to be successful in the field of soil and water conservation, I will need to take additional classes or gain additional experience in this area.

Job Title:  Scout

Responsibilities:
Monitor fields and compile information, including crop condition and pest infestation levels. Complete reports, accurately summarizing the above information. Maintain company equipment and vehicles issued to you. Take soil samples, file reports and other duties as needed.

Summarize Your Experience:
Until my internship with Centrol, I wasn't really sure of what I wanted to do when I grew up.  After one summer interning with Centrol, I was happy with my job and it really help in making management decisions.  The position also offered hands-on experience of practical pest management over a wide variety of farming situations. I learned first hand about identification and management strategies of weeds, insects, diseases and plant nutrition.

What I liked about the job:
Work was fun, I got up in the morning and was excited to go to work.  I think the best thing about my job is that I was getting paid to learn and better understand crop management.  Even if I don't consult after graduation and go back to the farm.  I will apply what I learned interning and in the classroom to work.

What I disliked about the job:   Weather was a factor in my intern, rain or shine we were crossing fields and hard at work.  The heat didn't bother me, but all that rainy wet weather.  Really, you can only be wet and muddy for so long.
