At UMC Health Management students complete a 400-hour internship during their senior year. Prior to their internship students complete several projects and have many opportunities to apply their management decision making skills. The internship serves as a capstone activity, providing a concentrated work experience in a selected health care setting. Internship sites include:

• Acute care hospitals
• Long-term care facilities
• Health agencies
• Medical clinics
• Insurance companies
• Public health departments
• Health maintenance organizations (HMOs)
• YMCA
