[Computer Software Technology] The applied study of computing with focus on the development and maintainance of software in applications for business, industry, government, and education.

Computer Software Technology (CST) is the applied study of computing with focus on the development and maintenance of software in applications for business, industry, government, and education. A CST degree from UMC will prepare graduates for Careers in commercial software engineering and design and application--including fields such as applications programming, systems analysis, systems programming, project management, database design and management, and a range of specialized positions as well.

With UMC's considerable technology expertise as the original "Laptop University" and its focus on applied or "hands-on" learning, this degree is a perfect fit for students who need the computer science theory but who also want to apply that theory to actual real-world projects. Graduates can also prepare for advanced studies in applied computing such as software engineering.
