Caring for
newborn calves, treating sick and fresh cows, moving fences, feeding and
bedding calves, bedding of outside calf hutches, putting cows out to pasture
and bringing them back in. Plus any additional jobs around the farm, and
fieldwork. |

I was in charge of taking the cows out to
pasture every morning and bringing them back in for morning milking. I also
took care of the newborn calves and feeding of calves morning and night. I
also gave medicine to the fresh cows, and moved pasture fences for the heifers,
cows, and dry cows. |

What I liked most about |
This job was very
self-directed. I was given a lot of responsibility and was trusted that I
would perform my duties. This job also provided a variety of activities throughout
the day. |

Challenges included
moving fences by myself when it is usually a two person job. |
