Job Title:

Summer Intern

Job Responsibilities:

Caring for newborn calves, treating sick and fresh cows, moving fences, feeding and bedding calves, bedding of outside calf hutches, putting cows out to pasture and bringing them back in. Plus any additional jobs around the farm, and fieldwork.

Summarize Your
Experience:

I was in charge of taking the cows out to pasture every morning and bringing them back in for morning milking. I also took care of the newborn calves and feeding of calves morning and night. I also gave medicine to the fresh cows, and moved pasture fences for the heifers, cows, and dry cows.

What I liked most about
the job:

This job was very self-directed. I was given a lot of responsibility and was trusted that I would perform my duties. This job also provided a variety of activities throughout the day.

Challenges on the job:

Challenges included moving fences by myself when it is usually a two person job.
