Job Title: |
Intern/ research
assistant |
|
|
Job Responsibilities: |
Post planting
preparation, spring planting, rouging, crossing in the crossing block,
weeding, taking flower notes, and cleaning.
There were many special projects including building crates for seed
tests, making a grain dryer, emptying bags of seed into the wagon for the
elevator. I directed the crew workers
in a lot of the field work. |

|
Summarize Your |
The crew and my boss were both friendly and
helpful during my internship. I was
able to ask questions and discover what research goes on behind a new line of
soybeans. It was a good experience for
learning about researching techniques on a large scale project. |
|
|
What I liked most about |
I liked the laid
back atmosphere and the humor of the crew the most. I enjoy outdoor work, and most of this work
is done outside or in the shop. |
|
|
Challenges on the job: |
The monotony of
the work at times made it difficult to stay interested in the work. It is a fairly new company and there are
different ideas of how it should be run between the full time workers. |
