Knowledge of equipment (engines, ATV’s pumps exc.), Managing Chainsaws Leading crew during surveys, fire cach inventories, prescribe burns, off district assignments, and  Physical fitness (1hr every day)

Worked the spring fire season in Deer River.  After fire season in MN, I did bird surveys and attended fire training classes along with two trips up to the Superior N.F. for work details, and went to Colorado for 3 weeks and Montana for 2 ½ weeks on 20 person fire crews to work Large fires . 

 

What I liked most about
the job:

 

Great work crew, met lots of nice people, Great chance for future employment, Always something to be learned, Lots of Overtime (450 hrs+)
