Steve BrandtSteve Brandt (video mpg,18MB)
graduated from UMC with his Business Management-Marketing degree in 2001.  During his time at UMC, Steve served as captain of the football team and as president of the Crookston Student Association.  He also was a UMC SIFE regional champion presenter. After graduation, he initially applied and was accepted in a MBA program at the University of North Dakota.  While working on his graduate degree, he received and accepted an opportunity in the Sales Consulting Group of American Express Financial Advisors' Product Sales Organization in Minneapolis Minnesota.  Steve is a sales illustrations project manager.  He says, "A lot of the work I do is based around use of the computer.  Even though my degree is in Business Management, the computer knowledge and background I was able to acquire by attending UMC has proven to be invaluable.  There is no way I could be holding my current position without the computer and technology experience I received from UMC.  Moreover, my involvement in SIFE allowed me to develop the communication and presentation skills I need in order to do my job effectively each day.  Without UMC and SIFE, I wouldn't be where I am today!"

Eric AlbrechtEric Albrecht graduated from UMC with a Business Management degree in 2002.  He is now on the fast track with Best Buy Corporation.  Eric started with Best Buy right after graduation in May, 2002, at the Woodbury, Minnesota, store.  He was soon promoted to the Richfield, Minnesota, store, which is considered to be the bread and butter store of Best Buy.  He began as supervisor for Home Audio, the third largest department in the store.  His responsibilities included coaching and training employees, assisting customers, creating business plans, developing business comps, providing floor leadership, and interviewing prospective employees.  Eric was promoted again--this time to store manager of the branch in Rochester, MN. "I am on my way to a successful career thanks to the things I learned and accomplished at UMC," he says.

Deborah KollingDeborah (Wosick) Kolling is a 2001 UMC Business Management-Marketing graduate.  Deborah was a member of UMC SIFE for four years and served as the group's president during her senior year.  She was also a regional champion presenter for SIFE.  Immediately following graduation, Deborah went to work for Pitney Bowes in Fargo, ND, as an account and sales manager.  She was responsible for sales, service, marketing, and customer relations management for the southeastern and south-central North Dakota territory.  Deborah went on to be hired as the director of development for Special Olympics of North Dakota.  She is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating the fundraising and marketing programs at all levels of the organization.  Deborah commented on her experiences at UMC,  "UMC and SIFE taught me hand-on business and marketing principles.  They also gave me the chance to demonstrate effective communications and marketing skills.  I have a new vision on pursuing my professional and personal goals.  I have learned that there are no boundaries except for those you set yourself.  Go after what you want.  Teach yourself that you can do it, and reward yourself by being the member of a team that will always support you:  UMC SIFE!"
