BMM Online Degree Approved
University of Minnesota Board of Regents approved UMC’s request to deliver another degree entirely online. The Bachelor of Manufacturing Management a (BMM), a 4-year degree that is career-oriented was approved for online delivery on Friday at the Board of Regents meeting in Minneapolis. The BMM degree prepares students to manage people and machines in a manufacturing environment it was approved last week for online delivery and awaits higher learning commission accreditation approval. The University of Minnesota, Crookston (UMC) partnership to deliver its bachelor of manufacturing management degree on site at Marvin Windows and Doors in Warroad, MN, has received an "Excellence in Practice" citation from the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). The citation will be presented to UMC, Marvin Windows and Doors, and Northland Technical and Community College, also a partner in the program, on May 24 in Washington D.C.
The Excellence in Practice Category recognizes results achieved through the use of practices, interventions, and tools from the entire scope of workplace learning and performance. Applications are accepted for both new and proven practices in such categories as electronic learning technologies, performance improvement, managing change, valuing differences, career development, organizational learning, technical training, training management, and workplace learning and development.
