The distinctive electronic learning environment at UMC complements the curriculum. All students are issued laptop computers and use them and related software on a daily basis. In addition to the campus-wide focus on technology, UMC's degree program recognizes the importance technology plays in the field of communication. Contemporary society is constantly changing, adapting, and responding to the forces emerging from advances in communication and information technologies. UMC's program asks students to select courses for the completion of a technology core (see program options for full curriculum options). Among the choices are courses that deal with word processing, desktop publishing, multimedia graphics design, e-learning, and website development.
