UMC Team
Funded through AmeriCorps, the UMC T.E.A.M. is a group of students who provide community service to local non-profit agencies and work together to sponsor events that promote diversity and encourage civic engagement. In the spring of 2006, the UMC T.E.A.M. sponsored a very exciting "Boxes and Walls" interactive museum on oppression. Visitors were able to tour the rooms, each focusing on an oppressed group. Along the way, they were placed in situations that gave them a glimpse of what being a part of each group might be like, both historically and in the present. |
