Meet Crookston Through Service
As a way to foster a connection between UMC's new students and the Crookston community, the Service Learning office along with First Year Experience (FYE) organize Meet Crookston Through Service as part of the new student orientation.
UMC students journey into Crookston and a select few surrounding areas performing tasks such as walking dogs at the Humane Society, clearing cross-country ski trails at the Mount St. Benedict, organizing future exhibits at the Polk County Museum, and gardening in the Crookston Wild Flower Garden.

Meet Crookston Through Service is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with the community that they will be part of for the next few years. Students get to take a look at the town and the town benefits by the service the students perform.

The 2002 Meet Crookston Through Service was the most successful one so far with 25 agencies in Crookston participating.
